World of Soul Motorcycle Communities Fallen Riders of 2009

I would like to ask all black bikers and their black motorcycle clubs to hit me up with their fallen riders. Please include a photo and any history of the rider.

This is the time when most clubs honor their riders who they lost this year.

I want to show my respect for them as well as your clubs because, Iron sharpens Iron...especially on Steel!

Oldest Black Motorcycle Club in Chicago…National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Clubs and other Black Harley-Davidson Riding Clubs

The National Association of Buffalo Soldiers & Troopers Motorcycle Clubs (NABSTMC) began with a dream Ken 'Dream Maker' Thomas is the founder. His intent was to start a motorcycle club that would focus on promoting a positive image of Blacks so the communities in which they lived would respect them as well as throughout the country. Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club of Chicago was founded in October 1993 and this club was started in Los Angeles, California.

The new club was chartered as the Buffalo Troopers Motorcycle Club of Chicago. The membership in the club grew to ninety-two their first year which rightfully earned the club the rep as being the largest Black motorcycle club in Chicago, IL. The clubhouse was located at 8510 South Ashland Avenue. In 1996, the club moved from this location to its current location at 13836 South Indiana Avenue, in Riverdale, Illinois.

The club's popularity grew as members attended the national roundups and rallies held in various cities in the country. This popularity transformed into interest of other clubs in affiliation with the Buffalo Troopers M/C of Chicago, Illinois. Then, Brian Bulow, a former President of the Maryland Chapter, and now a former Vice President of the NABSTMC saw the Chicago Buffalo Troopers at the Atlanta Roundup and displayed an interest in starting a chapter. That interest resulted in the first chapter to wear the "patch" outside of Chicago, Illinois. Soon afterwards, others showed an interest and started chapters, the next four being Florida, Delaware, Virginia and New Jersey. In 1999, the clubs collectively formed the NABSTMC which currently consists of seventy-nine member chapters throughout the United States and internationally with additional clubs petitioning for membership.

The actively participate in charitable functions supporting senior citizen homes, student scholarships and food and fund drives for charitable organizations like The March of Dimes and Toys for Tots. The NABSTMC give back to the community by mentoring to area youth and educational programs. Another prestigious venture this club has is that they recognize every year the accomplishments and sacrifices of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Black Motorcycle Clubs need to be aware that they have a responsibility in their communities to be role models to the youth. The NABSTMC have adopted this thought process by requiring their members nationwide to carry themselves as role models and share a responsibility and a positive value system to our respective communities in which they live in. They are a coed club and open to all minorities who share in their values and an interest to support their causes.

Chosen Few MC supported bike ride to find Mitrice Richardson

The Total Reward being offered is currently at $25,000

Calling on all black bikers and black motorcycle clubs please keep your eyes and ears open for Mitrice Richardson. She is 24 years old and went missing after being released from the Malibu police station at about 1 a.m. Thursday September 17th.

The location where she was released is in the remote Malibu canyon area. When they released her she didn't have a car, I.D, cell phone, money and they gave no assistance. This young sister hasn't been in any trouble and an honor graduate from Cal State Fullerton. The Malibu Sheriff's Office should have treated her better than they did.

The unfortunate thing for African Americans living in Southern California we are the minority and on any given day we're treated that way. Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca has ordered a homicide investigation into her disappearance due to persistence from the community.

Mitrice suffers from mental health issues so it is a cry out from the community to find her. During the investigation they found contents in her diaries that led them to believe that a few days before she was arrested; Mitrice didn't pay her bill at a Malibu restaurant. It is apparent that she had a mental breakdown because she had gone without sleep for as many as five nights. Mitrice suffers with bipolar disorder.

Her family wants everyone to be aware that her appearance may be different from the photos you see. Any person having any information related to this crime is requested to call Detectives Chuck Knolls or Steve Eguchi at the Los Angeles Police Department at (213) 485-2531 and refer to Report No. 09-1820882.

Help us find her.

African American Celebrity who was a Black Biker to...Jimi Hendrix

This musical genius died at 27 years old, leaving behind only 4 completed albums. They don't talk much about him and his motorcycle but Jimi rode a 1964 Chopped Harley-Davidson Panhead.

He was the 20th Century's electric guitar master. Jimi Hendrix was innovative and his style combined fuzz, feedback and controlled distortion to make his sound so distinctive. If you followed him you would know that he couldn't read or write music.

His brilliant rise in the music industry happened in quick, like in four years. Even though most would think you needed to be high to enjoy his music this wasn't the case. Jimi Hendrix was a self taught musical prodigy.

Johnny Allen Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942, at 10:15 a.m at Seattle's King County Hospital. James "Al" Hendrix was Jimi's father and he changed his name to James Marshall Hendrix. He loved music and Jimi's style was developed from listening to B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Holly, and Robert Johnson.

Jimmy's father found an old one-string ukulele and he gave it to him to play because he found out that he was playing the broom like a guitar. When Mr. Hendrix(Sr.) saw the love his son had for the ukulele he scrounged up enough money, like five dollars to buy Jimmy a second hand acoustic guitar from his friend.

Jimmy joined his first band, The Velvetones and after a three-month stint with the group, he left to pursue his own interests. Jimmy's dad was very instrumental in him honing his skill as a self taught musician. The third guitar was purchased and it was an electric Supro Ozark 1560S; it was the same guitar Jimmy used when he joined The Rocking Kings.

The Viet Nam war was enlisting our young men and Jimmy went into the Army in 1961. Around 1964 Jimmy was given a medical discharge because he got injured during a parachute jump. After being discharged from the Army he worked as a session guitarist back then he called himself Jimmy James.

By the end of 1965 Jimmy played with big acts like Ike and Tina Turner, Sam Cooke, the Isley Brothers and Little Richard. The last act Jimmy played with was Little Richard. After leaving Little Richard he started his own band called Jimmy James and the Blue Flames where he was the lead guitarist.

Early 1966 Jimmy was playing in Greenwich Village in NYC at small venues. He played at Café Wha? which has been around since 1950 and a favorite hot spot cornered in the heart of the Village. This night his group was playing along with Animals' bassist Chas Chandler during a July performance and Chas was impressed with Jimmy's performance and when he came back in September of 1966 he signed Hendrix to an agreement that would have him move to London to form a new band.

Once Jimmy moved to London and Chas was his new Manager he convinced Jimmy to change his name to "Jimi." Featuring drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Noel Redding, the newly formed Jimi Hendrix Experience quickly became the talk of London in the fall of 1966. His success started in the UK.

The Woodstock Music & Art Fair in August 1969, Jimi joined forces with an eclectic ensemble called Gypsy Sun & Rainbows featuring Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox, Juma Sultan, and Jerry Velez. The Woodstock performance was highlighted by the renegade version of "Star Spangled Banner," which brought the mud-soaked audience to a frenzy and that started his success in the United States.

The tragic death of Jimi Hendrix touched everyone and still today he is honored for his rich unorthodox contribution to R&B and Rock.

Black Bikers pray for President Obama

There's a new slogan making its way onto t-shirts, car bumpers and across the Internet. It reads simply:

"Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8"

It's nice to pray for the President, right?

I think not!

Study yourself approved, know the word for yourself.

Psalm 109:8 reads, "Let his days be few; and let another take his office."

My concern is you don't know if people who are wearing that message on a shirt or on a bumper sticker are fully aware of the quote or what follows. We must concern ourselves with what the message is really implying. Is it just referring to President Obama being out of office or is it referring to him being dead.

Who ever created this concept and those who find it humorous are definitely showing condemnation for God and His word. To imply elimination of President Obama whether it's from office or taking his life is sick, scary and troubling. There are some of us who don't think the slogan is just a humorous way of expressing disapproval for President Obama. It's been tweeted and retweeted by Obama critics. One of the critics defines himself as a devout Christian/Husband and his username on Twitter is DrHackenbush.
To be considered a Christian one would think you would applaud a leader who has concern for the least of his people; those who are unemployed, no food to eat, no health care coverage, homeless…must I go on.

Just as the creator of this marketing blasphemy chose to use only one verse in this Psalm I will take a few verses to send back to them, Psalms 109: 26-29 on President Obama's behalf.

26 Help me, O Lord my God;

save me in accordance with your love.

27 Let them know that it is your hand,

that you, O Lord, have done it.

28 They may curse, but you will bless;

when they attack they will be put to shame,

but your servant will rejoice.

29 My accusers will be clothed with disgrace

and wrapped in shame as in a cloak.
